My recipe for life: Live - much; Love - Freely; Care - deeply

I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and for 8 years grew up in Olathe, Kansas. Then we moved to a 100+ acre farm around Bolivar, Missouri (about 30 miles or so from Springfield.) There I had my 9th birthday, and my birthday wish came true shortly afterward, I finally got my first horse that I had saved my allowance for from the time I was three.

Music and Me:

Music has always been part of my life. Walt Disney's sister-in-law had a musical preschool in Olathe, and I remember going to it (I loved it!) and to dance classes. I loved ballet...but my dad really wanted me to learn tap.

When we moved into the house from our mobile home there was a piano that was left, so I began piano lessons. When we moved from Olathe to Bolivar there were no dance studios and all that was left was music lessons. I started accordian lessons and studied accordian for several years. Then played organ for fun whenever the opportunity presented itself.

Fast forward

I started singing karaoke about 3 years ago...I quit smoking and stayed smoke free because that is the deal I cut with my husband...no smoke, I can karaok'(e). LOL (but I've never sung it 'live')

A few of the things I love: my family, my friends, dogs, horses, animals, dragons, to laugh, sci-fi, music, reading...

I am: (and no, I'm not gonna say "a PC" LOL) a mom of one son...my social butterfly, a frustrated writer; a web-master, a Reiki Master, an ordained minister, dog trainer, student of naturopathy, potential student of hypnosis (and I promise I won't make anyone cluck like a chicken! - Unless they tick me off!)

In my daily life I work as a Secretary/Receptionist/data entry person in a 3 person office for the senior citizens of our county.  

I have been a military wife, (Air Force for over 20 years), have ridden horses practically all my life (since age 9), a beginning dressage student, and rode hunters and jumpers for several years. I no longer ride as my beloved pony crossed the Rainbow Bridge in honorable old age about 3 years ago.

As of January 23, 2009 we became a two dog household after being dog-less for at least 5 years. They are a joy!
